GREAT time today visiting friends Claire and Troy Eckard at their amazing Iron Springs Ranch. My friend Dylan and I and his daughter Mia took a tour with Troy and Claire and along the way, we had a chance to visit with their horses, chickens, burros, and their very happy and growing cattle herd while they introduced us to “regenerative ranching” and explained in great detail how they are transforming in a very prescriptive and diligent manner their grass fed beef and hay operation into a more sustainable model of ranching and an approach that will longer term be both more environmentally appropriate but also at the same time more profitable.
They are clearly throwing their energy and enthusiasm into this ranch and it really shows as a case study now for this more sustainable approach. It was a great time for everyone and if you get the chance, this is a visit you should make as it’s a quick trip up to beautiful Skull Valley and Iron Springs Ranch which is nestled away in this beautiful valley setting and a perfect location for this dream they are bringing to fruition.
